NSEA has been supportive of efforts to expand outdoor education since the 2017 session. Outdoor education provides hands-on, experiential learning opportunities that can deepen students’ understanding of science, environmental stewardship, and real-world problem-solving. For many students, outdoor learning can increase student engagement by making school more dynamic, interesting, and connected to students’ everyday lives.
We appreciate that AB501 gives each school district the flexibility to develop their own guidelines for this program and ask for your support of the bill.
