Memo: NSEA Supports Assembly Bill 464

NSEA supports AB464 to ensure common sense and inclusive academic standards while protecting educators from harm based on their identity or political participation.

AB464 requires genocides to be included in history education, works from diverse backgrounds in history and English, and science to be fact-based. The attack on diversity, science, and truth sadly make these standards necessary.

Meanwhile, educators have faced increasing harassment for their political beliefs and independent political action, with a notable uptick in coordinated campaigns aiming to intimidate or silence progressive educators. These campaigns often involve tactics like doxxing, public shaming, filing complaints, and mobilizing at school board meetings. AB464 would provide important protections for these educations. NSEA asks for your support of AB464
