Memo: NSEA Supports Assembly Bill 108

NSEA supports AB108, which makes a $1M appropriation to the Outdoor Education and Recreation Grant Program.

NSEA supported AB385 in 2017, giving all 5th graders access to our state parks. We then supported AB331 in 2019, to create the Outdoor Education and Recreation Grant Program. This grant program provides high-quality opportunities for kids to experience the outdoors, while learning about the environment and agriculture. The program also promotes equity by giving students from lower-income backgrounds access to outdoor educational and recreational programs, utilizing the resources of Nevada’s state park system to improve academics, personal health, and appreciation of nature. We support the expansion of funding for this important program.
