“This is an incredible honor and I am excited to lead a union that has been the voice of educators for over 120 years,” said Dawn Etcheverry, Vice President/President-Elect of the Nevada State Education Association. “The theme at our 53rd Delegate Assembly was “Time For 20” and along with NSEA’s new incoming Vice President, Brian Wallace, we look forward to working to address the crisis in Nevada public education by pushing our elected officials to invest in our educators.”

“I have worked with Dawn for years, and it’s been incredible to see her grow as an educator and as a leader,” said Brian Rippet, President of the Nevada State Education Association. “The Association will be in talented hands and I am excited to see the things she accomplishes for our kids, our members, and our state.”

Dawn Etcheverry is an elementary school music teacher at Greenbrae Elementary School in Washoe County and has taught for nearly 30 years. She was elected NSEA Vice President at Delegate Assembly in 2019, and also currently serves as the Washoe Education Association Treasurer. Dawn will start her term after the National Education Association’s Representative Assembly in July 2022.
