NSEA’s national affiliate, the NEA worked closely with the Biden Administration to help pass the Inflation Reduction Act to help our students and families by making healthcare more affordable.
We believe AB250 is a great next step in this process to ensure all Nevadans have access to affordable prescription drugs and reduce healthcare costs overall.

This session, NSEA has spent a good deal of time talking about the stagnant and relatively low pay of educators – with a teacher wage gap at 80 cents on the dollar and workers who make schools run making as little as $11 hour. The other side of this coin is household costs, which have skyrocketed, and for many educators and retired educators, their biggest pocketbook issue has been healthcare costs driven in part by the cost of prescription drugs.
AB250 will help reign in prescription costs, providing relief to thousands of Nevada active educators and retirees. It’s smart public policy which is fair and critical to the health and well-being of everyday Nevadans.
