Take Action
Email the Assembly and tell them to put Schools Over Studios by opposing AB238.
NSEA opposes giving away public money to private enterprises while our public schools and other public services remain so chronically underfunded.
With the Governor’s budget increasing education funding by only $2 per pupil and the possibility of hundreds of millions in federal education cuts, now is not the time for this Hollywood Handout. Nevada students and educators are being told to do more with less, while out-of-state corporations stand to benefit from a billion-dollar tax giveaway.
Nevada made real progress in 2023 by increasing education funding by $2 billion. Now, in 2025, that increase has been slashed to just $2 per pupil. The Legislature cannot keep prioritizing corporate tax breaks over our kids’ futures. More handouts for studios mean less funding for classrooms, teacher salaries, and student resources.
The Legislature needs to reject this misguided, economically debunked proposal. Instead, they should Pass the Plan recommended by the Commission on School Funding—a real solution that invests in Nevada’s schools and students.
