Oppose the Tinseltown Tax Cut: Hollywood Handouts Aren’t an Emergency.
SOS Special Session

Take Action

Let's rewrite this script! This is not an emergency. Nevada’s students need the Blockbuster Budget; Hollywood doesn’t need to use Nevada’s budget for its blockbusters.

If Hollywood is the emergency, then Nevada’s leaders have lost the plot.

Just a few months after Governor Lombardo signed a budget increasing education funding by just $2 per student, the Governor and Legislature are considering a Special Session to hand over $1.65 billion in public money to Hollywood executives.

The budget impacts of tax credits are real. Every dollar spent on one of these flashy but fiscally reckless projects is a dollar we don’t see in our schools or other essential services like public safety.

The real emergency is that Nevada ranks 48th in education funding, with the largest class sizes in the country, not that Hollywood executives don't have access to taxpayer money

Send the Legislature an email and remind them that their priorities are misguided and the Hollywood handout should be opposed.
