The
Instruction and Professional Development Committee
shall be responsible for the development and implementation
of Association programs to secure and maintain the
inherent professional rights of teachers.
The
Government Relations Committee
shall be responsible for the development and implementation
of Association programs to secure legislative support
for public education, collective bargaining, retirement
benefits, and the improvement of statutes and regulations
regarding professional practices.
The
Minority Affairs Committee shall be responsible
for the development and implementation of Association
programs to ensure that ethnic-minority concerns are
addressed.
The
Education Support Professionals Committee
shall be responsible for the development and implementation
of Association programs to secure and maintain the
professional rights of education support professionals.
The
Special Education Committee shall be responsible
for the development and implementation of Association
programs to ensure that concerns particular to the
field of Special Education are addressed; to assist
local association committees in their endeavors to
integrate state and local district guidelines into
the regular education settings; to provide a resource
of personnel and materials in the field of Special
Education; to assist in the issues, needs, concerns
and problems which arise as a result of implementation
and inclusion, and to pursue appropriate legislation
specific to Special Education.
The
Retired Committee
shall be responsible for the development and implementation
of Association programs to continue to promote the
interests and benefits of retired education employees
and to utilize the expertise and experience of members
to promote public education.
