NSEA Dreamers Scholarship
The Nevada State Education Association (NSEA) wants to help Nevada’s DREAMers take their first step toward a college education with the NSEA Dreamers Scholarship. Nevada’s K-12 public school seniors with a 2.0 GPA or higher, are undocumented and planning to apply for DACA for the first time can apply for a scholarship to receive a check in the amount of $465 to cover DACA filing fees. The scholarship application must be received in the NSEA office no later than February 8, 2017.
Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals (DACA), created by the Obama Administration in 2012 is U.S. immigration policy that allows qualified undocumented immigrants, commonly known as DREAMers a renewable two-year work permit and exemption from deportation. The NSEA Dreamers Scholarship pays the $465 filing fees for qualified scholarship recipients.
Nevada K-12 public school seniors with a G.P.A. of 2.0 or higher, who are undocumented, and are applying for DACA for the first time may apply for this scholarship. Students must be involved in community service and plan to attend a trade school, college, or university. Two scholarships in the amount of $465 will be awarded. Upon verification of graduation (final high school transcript) this scholarship check will be sent to Hermandad Mexicana Transnacional to process the DACA paperwork.

- Please request one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, club advisor, coach or employer that can attest to your leadership qualities. Please be VERY careful that you are typing the email address correctly. You should notify this individual to expect an email from the Nevada State Education Association.
- Did you arrive in the United States before June 15, 2007?
- Have you ever left the United States after June 15, 2007? (If yes, please explain the length of departure and the reason for leaving?
- Please attach resume.
NSEA Reach for the Stars Scholarship
The Nevada State Education Association (NSEA), in partnership with elected leaders and community members, is pleased to offer two scholarships in the amount of $2,000 to those applicants who are selected. The NSEA supports students pursuing a degree in education and highly encourages these students to apply. However, the NSEA supports all education, so the application process is not limited to education students.
To apply for NSEA’s “Reach for the Stars” scholarship, candidates must be a graduating senior or must have previously graduated from a Nevada public high school. Candidates must be enrolled or enrolling in a Nevada accredited:
• community college,
• 4-year university,
• career technology institution.
